Participate!

By registering, you and your restaurant will be participating in the Nordic Sushi Championship and will be judged by our jury members. To make a correct assessment we would like you to send a photo of your own sushi moriwase together with a comprehensive menu of what your restaurant has to offer.

Both the photo and the menu shall be sent digitally. If there is no digital menu you can also send a link to your website. To select this yearís four finalists we will then make unannounced visits among all participants in order to select those chefs that will participate inthis yearís competition. Judging criteria for the final are as follows:

  • Taste
  • Presentation
  • Preparation procedures

Competition
In the final, four finalists will compete on the stage simultaneously. You will have plenty of time to make preparations before the start of the competition. We will supply all raw materials and ingredients that you, as a chef, can be thought to need, with the exception of:

  • Rice
  • Hangiri
  • Rice warmer/rice cooker
  • Knives & torches
  • Chefís clothing

During the day of the final, the jury will award points to a winner based on three criteria and three competition components. These components are timed and will be official only when the positions in the final are complete. When you register as a chef you will get a more detailed description of the final day after your registration. Travel and hotel costs to and from Stockholm, as well as costs for room and board, are the responsibility of the finalists.

However, we can provide transportation to and from the Stockholm International Fairs from Stockholm if this is needed. In addition, as a finalist, you will also receive entrance tickets to Gastro Nord for five people from every restaurant competing in the final.

The last registration day for the Nordic Sushi Championship is March 4, 2008.
